I'd been meaning to read up more about the Reju x WM x Goodwill initiative, so this was a great prompt to dig in more! And I was excited to learn about Hilos - I'm particularly interested in manufacturing / production innovation happening in the fashion space, and it feels to me like there is less happening in that space than in materials innovation (just my perception) so I'm always happy to learn about initiatives focused on this theme.
The Goodwill x Reju x WM partnership is super interesting! One really compelling aspect of the initiative is how it leverages existing consumer behavior to solve one of the biggest challenges in textile recycling: getting a consistent feedstock supply.
People already have the habit of donating clothes to Goodwill, making the collection process more seamless and familiar compared to newer, less-integrated recycling programs that require additional effort or unfamiliar steps from consumers. It'll be interesting to watch and see the impact it has.
And yes, I completely agree—there does seem to be less happening in the manufacturing and production space compared to materials innovation. That’s why projects like the MiOT initiative are so exciting!
Unspun (https://www.unspun.io) is also one to watch in this space—they're tackling fashion manufacturing with their 3D weaving technology, Vega, which reduces waste and supports on-demand, localized production.
I'll keep an eye out and make sure to share initiatives like these that are pushing production innovation forward!
Appreciate this roundup, lots of big announcements this week!

Yeah I loved learning this stat about Goodwill, “serving 83% of the U.S. population within a 10-mile radius” !!! Pretty cool.
So good. Thanks for compiling this. Its really helpful.
Thanks, Christine! Really glad you found the roundup helpful!
